Sourcing botanicals

A combination of different fruits, spices and roots like bitter orange, vanilla, yellow gentian, galanga and rhizome of witloof for the bitterness are sourced directly from the land. They are treated intensively once they arrive in our distillery and some of them are dried before beeing used to give deeper aromas.

Maceration

The sourced botanicals - or raw materials are then put into our base alcohol after each has been individually treated. Some botanicals are macerated together for weeks and even for months to create a perfect marriage of the aromas along the way.

Distillation

Distillation is carried out to enhance the flavour and to control the colour. Not all botanicals are distilled. For some, a long maceration is enough.

Final
blend

Once maceration and distillation is completed, we blend everything according to our recipe. The result stays in our mixing tanks for another two weeks before beeing bottled to make sure all components are given enough time to blend in well

Where does the deep yellow
colour come from?

The deep yellow color of our aperitif comes naturally from key botanicals like yellow gentian root and orange zests. Additionally, the main rhizome, witloof, which imparts a light bitterness, also has a slight yellowish hue, contributing to the aperitif’s rich, golden tone.
